Disney Studios took some liberties with this fairytale, originally written by Hans Christian Andersen in 1836, changing it's ending so Ariel marries Prince Eric instead of turning into an air spirit in an attempt to gain an immortal soul. Personally I'm glad they did as I don't watch Disney cartoons to feel down, I watch so I can believe in happy endings. My favorite character is Sebastian, the crab, who is constantly fighting a losing battle to keep Ariel out of trouble. Anyone remember the scene w Sebastian and Prince Eric's chef battle it out in the kitchen? I sure do, and it never fails to make me laugh. Each figurine is hard resin and varies in length or height. The colors are impregnated into the resin and despite being used on my tree for several years have shown no sign of fading. I am the original purchaser and these ornaments have been exclusively used in a smoke-free home, then carefully packed away after the holidays are over so as to maintain their condition. The box is in excellent shape despite having been opened and closed many times, but if you disagree with my assessment after you receive your purchase, I do allow returns. Buyer assumes shipping costs, I will ship other than priority mail if you so desire. PayPal preferred, but I will accept a money order. Please be patient, I will ship as soon as payment has been confirmed. Please check back as I will be listing many more Disney Christmas ornaments and memorabilia, as well as other collectibles. Thank you for looking at my ad and have a joyous holiday.
