DISNEY STORE MICKEY MOUSE'S NEPHEW PLAYING ON STOOL MICKEY'S TOY SHOPPE DISPLAY COLLECTOR'S PREMIUM DISPLAY This unusual display is from the premiere window display seen in the original first generation of The Disney Stores circa 1987/1988. This delightfully warm scene showed Mickey Mouse atop a stool with a Pinocchio Marionette in hand. The scene was a toyshop and Minnie was seated near a fireplace reading a Peter Pan book, Pluto was standing nearby, and Mickeyâe(tm)s (seldom seen) nephews, Morty and Ferdie were in the scene. Since the 2 were identical twins, you really canâe(tm)t tell if this is Morty or Ferdie. One nephew was seen riding atop a motorized rocking horse shaped like Bambi; and the other nephew (this one) was dressed in this mock Peter Pan outfit (perhaps this is why Minnie is reading Peter Pan to the nephews) and this nephew is pretending to fly like Peter Pan. The figure is absolutely in mint condition. The leattte feeling real clothes and hat are nicely tailored to be removed with velcro seams. Originally, nearly 70 of these were produced but today, since most were destroyed (Disney protocol for most store closings) it is estimated less than 6 still exist. Only two such figures that were sold on Disney e-bay came with the even more rare painted solid wood stool. The combined character and prop stool is 28 inches tall. To most observers, they would believe this is Mickey Mouse since he looks exactly like Mickey unless he is being displayed alongside a bigger actual Mickey Mouse figure.
