Chief among these artists (or "Imagineers") was Disney Legend Herb Ryman, who had worked as a fine artist, a motion picture illustrator, and a Disney animation concept designer. Together, Ryman and Walt Disney spent a memorable weekend in 1953 creating the rendering of Disney's first overall plan for what would become the original Disneyland, and Ryman remained at the center of WED's creative team (now called Walt Disney Imagineering) for the rest of his life. is a wonderful stationery folder set (or "lap pack") featuring the image of Ryman's 1953 design for the park's iconic Sleeping Beauty Castle: gateway to Fantasyland, and the symbol of Walt Disney's Magic Kingdom.
