Now YouCan Party Like It's 1978! 3 1/8" x 5 3/8"....Disneyland, California....July 17, 1978 For many years, Disneyland has observed its "birthday," or anniversary of its July 17, 1955 Grand Opening, in many ways. They have always included their employees or "cast members" in the festivities--nowadays, each person working on the special day receives a special, cast only collector's pin. Some time before the pins, personnel received colorful printed ribbons with adhesive strips that attached to their ever-present nametags...and even before that, each Disneylander received a paper tag as they arrived for work...plus, a carnation! is one of those special paper tags from Disneyland's 23rd Birthday - July 17, 1978 . It looks to have not been used, as t are no holes from the corsage-style pins which held the tag--and the live carnation--onto the costume of the celebrating cast member. "We're 23 years old today" says the tag; Mickey Mouse appears below the traditional gothic Disneyland logo, and a small castle floats nearby. This oval piece is a slickly coated piece of heavy paper stock, and has both dark blue and aqua printed colors. At the bottom in small type: "©Walt Disney Productions."
