The Carolwood Foundation is the recently formed non-profit off shoot of Michael Broggie's Carolwood Pacific Historical Society. Michael Broggie is a noted Disney historian who's father, Rodger, built Walt's original Lilly Belle engine than ran around his Holmby Hills Estate. Both the foundation and society are dedicated to keeping alive Walt Disney ideals and values especially regarding railroading. The society recently received Ollie Johnston's station from his backyard railroad and is in the process of raising funds to restore and place the little station adjacent to Walt Disney;s barn on the Los Angeles Live Steamer's property in Griffith Park near Burbank. Portions of the proceeds from the purchase of this item will go to this effort as well as other projects of the Carolwood Foundation. As we are non-profit purchases are tax deductable. Up for auction is a limited edition,300, pin based on the original Retlaw One consist that circles the park from opening day until 1974. It was decided the cars took to long to load and unload and offered limited viewing. This particular pin is based on the Grand Camyon observation coach and is now the Lilly Belle parlor car in use at Disneyland.
