The live-action and animated films of Walt Disney have given our culture some of its most memorable movie songs and music; however, we have not heard it all. Walt Disney and his staff recognized the importance of music to the storytelling process. The musical score was integral to the creative process, and just as a film could change visually during its production many songs were composed only to be set aside in favor of a different approach. This beautifully illustrated new book presents 77 songs composed for Disney films yet unused and unrecorded. Disney artist and author Russell Schroeder has collected them in full vocal/piano arrangements for this book. T are songs for Lady and the Tramp, Cinderella, Song of the South, The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad, Mary Poppins, and others plus the uncompleted film projects Rainbow Road to Oz and Chantecler . He has selected over 225 Disney images to illustrate the text: concept art plus character and story development paintings and drawings including previously unpublished work by Mary Blair, Dick Kelsey, Bill Peet, David Hall, Ken Anderson, Marc Davis, Mel Shaw, Yale Gracey and Peter Ellenshaw. Photographs of many of the composers at work at the Studio are also featured. Published in a limited, numbered edition of only 1,000 copies; these copies are signed by the author. Hardcover in dust jacket, 312 pages, 12 1/4" x 9 3/8". As new, MINT condition.
