Hi guys and gals....Great look'n saw don'tcha think? One of the better Disston #12,s that I've reconditioned. Just look at that gorgeous Applewood handle! Hardly a ding on it. Almost like fresh out of the factory. I have hand sharpened it and it cuts great. No added set was needed. The teeth already had plenty of set to give a smooth cut. The set was done on a machine not with a hand tool. You can tell by the bend in the teeth. The tooth edge is crowned to a curvature of about 1/8" and the teeth at the toe end are graduated smaller in size for easier start of the cut. The blade is close to the original size. It was originally 3" at the toe and 7-1/2" at the handle end. It has the "X" stamped on the upper corner inside the handle. The "X" indicates extra taper extra tempering of the metal. It's the highest quality blade that Disston made. The pictures and the captions pretty much tells and shows you what the saw is. Not much more I can say about it.
