~ Disston D8 RIP Handsaw ~ 26 inch blade--- 5-1/2-PPI (points per inch) >Hello all you saw lovers out t.....Welcome to my auction!!< This is a reconditioned Disston D8 with 5-1/2 points per inch with a 26 inch blade. It measures 2-1/4" at the toe and 6-1/4" at the handle. It does have some mild pitting and t and the etch is long gone. The blade is straight and all teeth are accounted for. It's just been sharpened by yours truely. It rips a straight line pretty much by itself. All you have to do is grab ahold and push and pull. A special note regarding the blade.... As we know, anything can be a collector item, however, I'm selling a user saw With that in mind, while cleaning the blade, considering that the etch was no w to be seen I opted to use a method I rarely use. While protecting the teeth, I sanded the blade using a belt sander. You can see the shiney results in the pictures. I would never use this method for cleaning unless the saw was intended as a user. The blade looks very shiney in the pictures but I want you to know that using a belt sander will leave some sanding scratches.
