Offered for your consideration is an exceptionally nice Disston No. 4 open-handled 10-inch dovetail or small tenon saw, 10 inches long, and filed rip at 14 TPI for your fine woodworking projects. Vintage is 1896-197, based on the PHILADA medallion. Treated the handle with a traditional mixture of boiled linseed oil, turpentine and honey beeswax. A previous owner's initials are branded on the right side off handle, and t is a repaired stress crack next to the sawnut (this has been glued with cyocrylate gap-filling adhesive). Sawplate measures 2 7/16's across entire toothline, and is completely straight with no bends or kinks, and has been polished, along with the split sawnuts. Nicely visible etch that reads: A.J. Wilkinson & Co. Washington St. Between State Street & Dock Square Boston Spring Steel 44 Waranteed I have just jointed, shaped, beveled, sharpened and set the teeth. It's ready to go to work now. You're going to like this saw, and it will serve you well.
