Do it yourself un-finished "Kit" Walt Disney's Carolwood Drive Residence Railroad Track... By popular request I am putting up a DIY Kit for this piece. Several people have asked for a "Kit" So they may make this piece themselves including their own wood preparation and staining of this piece to the shade of their choice. So here it is. You have the redwood, the 2 spikes and the rail. The rail slice is a 1/8" inch thick slice of Walt Disney's Rail. Kit includes directions on how to prepare the redwood and spike the rail to the finished specs. This is an actual section of rail from Walt Disney's Carolwood Pacific Railroad. This is a piece from the same section of rail that's for sale in my Ebay Store. The rail slice is about 1/8" in length and still has some dark paint on the side that Walt decided would make it look more prototypical and realistic. It will be spiked with real Little Engines spikes to a 3" seasoned redwood tie. The tie has been recreated by milling this smaller piece from a seasoned 15" gauge redwood tie originating from the late Seymour Johnson's private Goleta Valley Western RR in Montecito, California. The metal rail is the only part of this display that is actually from Walt's home. The tie will be recreated and the spikes are REAL Little Engines spikes from the 1950's and are very similar to the ones used on read more
