This is a Delaware Lackawanna & Western milk car and reefer. I believe it was made by Frank's Roundhouse using the same or simliar dies used by Kris Model Trains, American Model Trains or one of the other companies that used the such dies. It is 3-rail O-scale. It appears to be mint with its original all-white white box with the number 89 written on one end. I have been told this was Frank's stock number. For their time these cars had outstanding paint and graphics. Milk cars were used mainly in passenger trains but also in peddlar freights and mixed trains. Off-season they were also used as clean-lading boxcars on freights. A rare and stunning car with red roof and ends. Please check my other auctions!
