Every attempt was made at keeping the items in mint or like new condition, but some items originally came to us used and used can never become mint again. Sigh! We try to describe slight variations to original packaging (whether the tape has begun to yellow, or paper has changed shade, cardboard has an uneven surface through age or gravity, etc.). Even "mint" packaging is really no longer "mint" if its over 20 years old. In trying to describe variations from mint, t might be a lot of discussion, but if you were at a store you'd just select the item as a great find because you can see the item has the qualities you want. Words have to take the place of personal experience. We try to sell great looking items, but if you want something that is exactly "mint", you might spend a lifetime searching. We as collectors want good looking items, hence our descriptions. Also as collectors, we are willing to accept small defects when we are out buying for our collections. A magazine might have the crossword puzzle filled in or t may be stray words or pen marks. A pale stain of a drop of coffee may be on a page or t may be rust on the binding staple or a small separation around the staple. Sometimes t are indentations on a page or tiny tears, etc. We try to mention them, but always check the photograph. We don't alter the image and a really snappy and desirable item could have quite a few small traces that need to be mentioned. Buy eagerly! A final note about the word "Mint" vs. "Used": Used condition never means mint or like new. Used means that it has the acceptable condition so you can use it, too, and enjoy it. Used may have small wear, rubs, creases, etc., but frequently the item just doesn't look "store fresh" but may be very nice. If you want a mint or collectible item, used is not the way to go. If you want to use the item yourself, you can save a lot of money by buying used condition items. We're sure you'll love using this one!
