A Doctors Pocket watch Circa 1900, not dated or marked ,so this is a guess, 56mm Dia Brass case, heavily detailed in good condition, case has been polished since Photographs and has come up well. Removable bezel on front of watch fitted with proper Glass with a small chip on side of glass at 8 o clock. Dial is in perfect condition, is 46mm dia. Roman numerals centre section with outer chapter ring of 300ths and inner chapter ring of 5 second increments,Gilt hour and minute hands,blued steel seconds/stopwatch hand. The stop /start button does not appear to be original but does work very well. Although there is no key with this watch I have wound it and although not keeping perfect time it works strongly with a good steady beat. The movement is original and unexciting but in good condition and the balance beats strongly.The inner case back is hinged and slightly discoloured but nothing a good polish won't sort out. The Brass case is heavily patterned to the edges and surrounds with a plain back and a central oval shield cartouche and is worn comensurate with age. The watch hanger is brass and connected to a silver/nickel top piece.As I write this the watch has been ticking away merrily for the past hour, so I am happy to confirm that it works well and would probably benefit from a clean and overhaul.Although fairly unexciting the watch read more
