Description: 1892 and 1895 West Shore Railroad Time Tables for Passenger Trains At Auction are 2 West Shore Railroad Time Tables, one February 1892 and the second dated November,1895. These 2 documents are printed 2 3/4 years apart so you can observe that the railroads' schedules expanded during this time. These documents are probably condensed versions of the larger Travel Guides. I am not certain how often these Time Tables were published, but more than once per year. These 1875 and 1889 New York Central & Hudson River Railroad Official Pocket Time Tables of Passenger Trains have these characteristics: Materials of Construction:Both documents are printed on the front and back of the paper.The 1892 document is like a book or brochure with a cover printed on heavy gray paper and the inner contents are printed on off white paper.The 1895 document unfolds like a map into 10 sections on each side. A map "showing Terminal Stations of the West Shore Railroad and Ocean Steamship Docks of New York City, Hoboken, Jersey City & Brooklyn" and then opens up into a large color map entitled "The Popular Through Car Line / Between The / East and West / New York, Boston, Chicago, and St. Louis / The Niagara Falls / Route. This latter map shows all the Great Lakes.The 1892 document provides the Drawing room and Sleeping Car Services on Trains 1, 3, 5, 7, 11, and 13 Going North and West and Trains 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 going East and South. There is also a list of Theatres of the Metropolis. Passenger Train Time Tables are given for New York to Albany and then Albany to New York Hudson River Division; Albany to Buffalo and then Buffalo to Albany Buffalo Division; New York to Montreal and Ottawa; To and From Catskill Mountain via Kingston; To and From Saratoga via the West Shore Railroad; To and From Lakes Mohonk and Minnewaska, Shawancunk Mountains via the West Shore Railroad; and the West Shore Railroad. There are many ads in this document most with illustrations but the Hotel Porter ad on the interior back cover has an illustration that looks like a photograph.The 1895 document provides a section on the General Officers and then Time Tables To and From New York and Boston to Chicago, To New York and Boston to Chicago and St. Louis via Niagara Falls, Chicago, St. Louis and Detroit to New York and Boston, Between New York and Boston and Chicago and St. Louis, Between New York and Boston and Chicago and St. Louis, and then Connections at Detroit. There is also a Section on Sleeping and Parlor Car Service. The 1895 document also contains the 2 Maps listed above.Condition:Very Good. These Time Tables are in tact and in good condition especially for their 124 year old age and 121 year old age. The Cover and pages have darkened with age, but are still in good condition. The edges are a little frayed. Please view the accompanying pictures.Dimensions:The 1892 Time Table is about 5 ¾ inches wide overall by 9 ¼ inches high.The 1895 Time Table is folded about 4 ¼ inches wide overall by 8 ½ inches high and fully opened up about 39 ½ inches wide overall by 17 inches high.Markings:On the front of the 1892 document is printed "November, 1895 / West / Shore / Railroad" with an illustration below of a page with a West Point illustration with pages behind this suggesting that there are also illustrations for the "Catskills, Saratoga, Montreal, Buffalo, Niagara Falls, Detroit, Clevelan, Chicago, and St. Louis" on the other pages in this book.On the top left hand corner of this book is a banner on which is printed "NYC & HRRR Co Lessee". On the bottom is printed "Percy R. Todd, General Traffic Manager C. E. Lambert, Gen's Pass'r Agent, J. D. Layng, General Manager, all located at 5 Vanderbilt Ave., New York / Winkoop Hallenbeck Crawford Co., Printers, New York, / From A.
