This is a fascinating piece, but I have no means of authenticating it. I leave that to the buyer, and am selling 'as is'. It measures roughly 11 x 14" and is printed on very thin cardstock-type paper. It reads: "All Madams Will Positively Keep Their Girls Off The Streets After Dark / Marshal, Dodge City, May 2nd, 1884". To me it seems a little too good to be original to the time, yet it certainly shows its age. It exhibits toning, oxidation, water staining, and some dents (several of which broke through to the back - 2 holes in "Madams", 4 in the end of "Positively," and 2 in "Keep", but they have flapped closed). A fair bit of foxing / tiny rusty colored dots appear both front and back. Evidence of staple holes in the corners, with a 3/4 x 3/4" chunk missing from bottom right corner (piece of tape remains on rear). Even if a 19th century 'Wild West' Pop Culture creation (again, I have no idea), it is a great conversation piece with a lot of eye appeal. Will likely ship in a Priority Flat Rate Box, which is $8.95. Insurance optional. No handling fees.
