is an unusual item. This is " A Dogpatch Original" item from the All Capp comic series of Lil' Abner. I have only seen one other beanie like this and the dealer wanted fifteen bucks for it! This lot of four beanies has been in a trunk for 20 years and they were vintage when I found them. They were made by the Plymouth Hat Mfg. Co. in Boston MA. The felt fabric is 70% wool and 30% cotton . Three are in better condition than the 4th dark blue one. It has been used and most of the paper tag is gone. The light blue one has damage to the paper tag. The other two have fairly good paper tags. The comic image is inked onto the beanies. The red and green ones have Daisy Mae chasing Lil' Abner, (typical behaivor for Daisy Mae), and the two blue beanies have Mammy, with her pipe, chasing Pappy and the pig. Although t is some fading on the felt fabric, the inked image is quite colorful. Check out my other items ! I have other vintage items listed this week. Let's keep it simple.
