14" Hard Plastic Margaret Rose, made by Madame Alexander. She has the suntan coloring and the mohair wig so I would think she is from 1948 or 1949. She is a strung doll, beautiful coloring. Her dress is tagged MARGARET ROSE and she has the clover foil wrist tag that says MARGARET ROSE on one side and A MADAME ALEXANDER DOLL on the other side. She is all original. When I first purchased her I didn't think the roses at her waist were original and I removed them and put them in a safe place. Well I found out they were original and came on the dress at the waist so I dug them out and put them back on. Amazing I finally found where I had put them! The doll came out of a collector's collection but the doll has no box and on the back of the legs there is some stain discoloration, am not sure what caused it. There might be a product to remove it but have not tried. There is a little rubbing at the neck where her head turns and moves down. She is really a wonderful example of this doll and not an easy doll to find. She has her original stringing but you might need to restring her eventually as her head wants to lean to the side more than it wants to stay straight up. New owner can decide to restring or not. Email me with any questions as the sale is final and no returns.
