Quality rare antique deck of German playing cards. Published by B Dondorf Frankfurt. Beautiful quality color engravings of royal cards. Corners gilded in gold. Complete 52 cards. Original box missing the lid. Outstanding set of Dondorf's gorgeous "Shakespeare" cards, No.192, one of the most beautiful decks of cards ever made, by Dondorf or anyone else. From the size of the indices, and other indicators, the cards are a later Dondorf edition, c.1930. T are 52 cards, plus an unbacked insert card in German that identifies which Shakespeare characters are depicted on the court cards. The cards are large, measuring 93mm x 60mm, with gold gilt at the corners. They are in the original telescope box. The cards and box are in very good condition, with virtually all gold gilt intact. Appraised at 500$ by Ruby Lane site for antiques.
