Dooling "Mercury" Tether Car - Ex-Walt Petersen: This pre-war Dooling Rear Drive Mercury is a fantastic "as raced" survivor from the collection of the late Walt Petersen. It is an extremely interesting and unique example as it obviously was raced actively in the immediate post World War II years. The owner carried out a number of successful modifications to the car. Primary among them is the fitting of a potent spark ignition Hornet .60 engine. The owner further installed superior Dooling Series F wheels and tires. Finally, he fitted a rare, visually appealing Morrison Silver Rocket grille. Judging by the tires and the expanded tether lugs, this handsome Dooling ran often and with the Hornet engine set up the car had to be very rapid. The car is completely original, and is in "as raced" condition. An ignition coil, and condensor are included. A fuel tank is the only item this car lacks. The length overall is 19 inches.
