Excellent silver plated figural metal bank of NASA's very first space shuttle, Columbia, which was launched in 1981 and unfortunately disintegrated during re-entry on its 28th mission in 2003. This replica bank was made in the 1980's when Columbia was celebrated as the new direction in space flight. This bank is cast in a heavy silver-plated metal with excellent detail, from its nosecone to its rear cluster of rocket engines. Both sides read "COLUMBIA" near the nosecone and "NASA - UNITED STATES" on the fuselage. The coin slot is on top, and the round metal screw trap is on the bottom, which is covered in green felt with the original label reading "Leonard - JAPAN". It stands 4" tall by 7.5" long with a 5" wingspan, and weighs 1.5 lbs. This shuttle bank is in excellent vintage condition with its silver finish still shiny and with no noticeable cracks, breaks or damage. Make it yours with your winning bid.
