Through five more groundbreaking studio albums, the Doors were fronted by the legendary rock shaman Jim Morrison as they daringly expanded the boundaries of contemporary music and popular culture. The Doors 4 CD boxed set contains nearly four and a half hours of music, with three hours of previously unreleased material, including demos, live track and one brand new song with vocals recorded by Jim Morrison in 1970. Buyer beware : Any Doors fanatic needs to own this set. The casual fan, maybe not. Some of the source materials for the unreleased tracks are raw so the sound quality is uneven. Disc Two, Live In New York is not a continuous, single show but, rather, tapes gathered at four concerts at the Felt Forum. The song Gloria, allegedly, is from a sound-check from a LA gig. Disc Four is essentially a Greatest Hits collection and there are several of those available - many better than this one.
