Dorfan Set No. 705 w/3920, 772, 773

Up for auction is one fantastic Standard Gauge Dorfan train set. Everything shown in the pictures is included. Because it is very difficult to find information on these trains please understand that I am describing them to the best of my abilities. If something is incorrect in my description please let me know! The individual items and their condition are as follows:

1- Dorfan #3920 Engine- This engine is clearly deteriorated. One side is very presentable, but the other side is heavily crazed and has some large cracks along the top and front. It seems to have all of its parts, but please use the pictures as your guide.

1-Dorfan #772 Washington Pullman Car- This car is in wonderful shape, It is all original and has not been repainted. There is some paint loss, and some slight crazing to the original trucks.

1- Dorfan #773 Observation Car- This car is also in great shape. It is all original and has not been repainted. There is some paint loss, but that "Sunshine Special" decal has almost no loss! The original trucks have some crazing, and one looks like it may have been soldered at one point.

9 Pieces of curved track- There are eight pieces of large curved track that I think are original to this set, but the smaller piece was in the box so it is being sold as well. There is also a small metal plate with two very long wires attached.

1- Dorfan 705 Set Box- This box is large (22" X 18" x 5") and in great shape. One corner of the top part is split. There is some writing on the top in pencil, and Dorfan is written in pen on the side in small letters. All of the dividing inserts are in great shape, although the one that holds the track is a little scraped up on the inside ends.

As always the pictures tell the story, and if you have any questions just ASK!

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING:

I am in the process of auctioning off 100's of pre- and postwar Lionel, American Flyer, Dorfan, and Hafner trains and accessories . This collection was my Grandfather's, and he took great pride in it. He would set up his trains after Thanksgiving and take them down after Christmas every year. At all other times they were stored and never displayed or run. All of these trains were put into storage in the early 1970's and so have not been handled in any way for 40 years . It is time to get these trains into the hands of the collectors who will truly enjoy and appreciate them. I am listing these auctions without using any formal TCA guidelines for two reasons: First, I am not a train expert and do not want to misrepresent something as C-9 if it is only C-8 or vice versa. Secondly, I will not be testing all of these trains to see if they all function entirely. I have been told that many of the trains were purchased new and never run . I do not want to risk damaging a train in any way by handling it excessively or running it improperly. Because of this all trains will be sold as-is with no returns. The pictures will need to tell the story of the condition, and I have no doubt that you will agree they are some of the finest examples available. I am taking each item out of its original box, photographing it in great detail, putting it back exactly as I found it, packing it carefully, and mailing it out to the lucky winner of each auction. If you are looking at one of my auctions there is an excellent chance that you know way more about these trains than I do. If you see something that is incorrect, please let me know. Each auction will last one week. If you have a question please ask it during that time. Do not, however, ask me to end an auction early. All items listed will be sold to the highest bidder. There will be no reserves, however the opening bid will usually be between a good and excellent grading price in Greenberg's 2011 guide. Lastly, I ask that you please follow my other auctions. I estimate that it will take me several months to finish selling this amazing collection, and during that time you will not want to miss out on some of the nicest and rarest trains on Ebay. Thank y...
