This scarce broadside from the Dorr rebellion was printed in May of 1842. Titled: "RESIGNATION OF ALL THE OFFICERS UNDER THE PEOPLE'S CONSTITUTION" it is printed on thin paper that measures approx. 12 1/2 x 12 inches. The night of the failed attack on the Cranston Street Armory in Providence Thomas Dorr and a handful of men retreated to his headquarters on Federal Hill. Upon arriving Dorr discovered that eleven of his legislators had resigned because of his resort to violence. The names of those eleven legislators are signed in print at the bottom of the broadside. On the back of the broadside written in brown ink reads: "Resignation of Senators and Representatives, May 18th 1842". This broadside has a very small chip in the upper left corner and a small chip in the lower right corner otherwise very good condition! Buyer pays shipping & insurance. NO RESERVE!
