Vintage Douay & Rheims Roman Catholic Bible. Entered according to Act of Congress, in the year 1883. This Bible has no writing or markings other than a stamp in the corner of a front page that reads: Villa Joseph Marie St. Joseph Home, Holland Rd, Newtown, PA. I did find a High School online in that area that it may have originated from called Villa Joseph Marie High School. If you read their history page, it is possible that it could have originated from there. You would definitely need to research this more if the history of this bible is to be revealed. I did have the bible professionally restored because the binding had separated from the pages. All pages appear to be there. There are some minor tears though. There is one page I see torn in half, but the page is still in there. Overall in awesome shape for it's age. Some colored pictures are covered by tissue paper and they are all intact. There is also a piece of paper inside that reads :" Why Catholics Should Read the Bible...." it is dated 1898. Very detailed pictures adorn this masterpiece.
