This piece was originally purchased by a friend of ours in Bedford County Pennsylvania. We bought it about 5 years ago.***** The dough box with the lid weighs just under 35#. It is 24" tall X 36" wide X 20" deep at its' greatest dimensions.***** It has beautiful hand wrought dovetail joints. ***** T is old worming of the wood, especially on the lid (see photo) ***** T is a new piece of wood added (apparently for structural support) on the inside of the lid (see photo). This new piece could be easily removed if desired. ***** T is also a small piece of the lid which has been pieced in. This 4.5X2 inch piece looks a bit like the state of Texas and can be clearly seen in the photo of the top of the lid. ***** All other parts appear to be original. **** This is a fine example of a Dough Box or Trencher and most probably did see use in a kitchen. ***** T is no reserve for this piece, so may the best bid win. *****
Also, please note: I live in Cleveland Heights, Ohio which is 15 minutes east of the city of Cleveland, Ohio. If you live close enough to this area to pick up this item yourself then you may do so and t will be no shipping fee or handling fee.
