I have here a great find on a scarce Douglas Mfg. Co. rocket model that is 21 1/2" long. The rocket is mounted to an ocean green metal base which has a silvered metal tag marked USAF Sky Bolt. There is also on the base a red and blue manufacturer logo showing a rocket in flight and three jet planes in flight. It has the name Douglas. Is this the forerunner of McDonald Douglas Aircraft Mfg. Co? I was told this gentleman worked for the Douglas company but I do not have anything to verify this information. The rocket has partial decal of the Strategic Air Command and a USAF decal. The rocket design has fins at the back. There is crazing to the white paint and some paint loss spots in particular on the nose. There is some damage to where it is connected to the base. There is handling dirt on the rocket which I have not attempted to clean. The base is in great shape. This could be a rare piece. I have not seen another. I am offering this neat rocket desk display as found with NO RESERVE. Due to the size and fragile nature It may require an over sized box for secure packing. Buyer to pay actual shipping. Payment expected within 7 days of close of auction. Thanks!! NO OVERSEAS shipping please.
