Royal Doulton - Art Nouveau Vase - Iris Motif in Gold Gilt & Royal Blue - Signed S. Hughes
Doulton & Co. - Burslem, Staffordshire, England
Date period - 1891 to 1920. This wonderful Art Nouveau vase stands 11" tall and is 4 3/8" at the widest part of the vessel.

The photos read left to right. 1st photo has 3 close up views of that side. Turning clockwise photo 5 & then 6 with a close up. Then the last of 4 sides and the maker's mark on the base. The signature is in the 5th photo, bottom right of the white area and the last photo.

The base reads: C9356, R.A. 8986. The Crown with scalloped symbol below. The symbol has inside it the words Doulton Burslem with interlocking half ovals between the words. The word England is below the scalloped circle.

Condition is excellent. Photos are true in color. Small gilt flowers have slightly raised surfaces (hard to see in photos). T are also raised areas in design corresponding to the gold in the blue neck and blue base. This is a beautiful example of the artistic Art Nouveau style.

The vase weighs 1 pound & 6 ounces.
