I AM STARTING THIS GROUP OF CRABS AT AN UNBELIEVABLE .99 CENTS WITH NO RESERVE !! This auction offers a group of 12 "MUFFIN" crab nodules from the Mesozoic Era, Late Cretaceous Period, Maastrichtian Age collected on private property in September of this year with landowner's permission from a site which is part of the Ripley Formation in West Central Alabama, U.S.A... These nodules range from about four to six inches in length making them average specimens from the site. These concretions all have decent shape and will make great additions to any fossil collection or outstanding prep projects for someone. These nodules contain somewhat rare, fossilized crab specimens known as Avitelmessus grapsoideus Rathbun , also locally known as "MUFFIN CRABS", or even more rare...an occassional Dakotacancer crab fossil has been found in these nodules. These are interesting specimens and would make great additions to your collection. I have been collecting fossils for many, many years and these are personal finds.
