This auction is for one (1) hard-to-find DR. R. SCHIFFMANN'S ASTHMADOR CIGARETTES BOX from R. SCHIFFMANN COMPANY, LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA! This is a wonderful example of an early and unusual medicinal in a fantastic box! Terrific treasure, it's in near mint condition, with no marks, tears, or stains -- remarkable considering its age and use! Made of heavy card/paperboard, it has a crease along left end of interior box and a small 'crease' along left front side edge of outer box -- a great little collectible! Interior box is all intact and still slides in/out easily. Graphics/text are still wonderfully colored in vivid, company colors of lime green and red! A medicinal for asthmatics in the early days, these cigarettes contained stramonium and belladonna! Sides read: "ASTHMADOR is also available in powder form"/ TO OPEN BOX PUSH THIS END/ "ASTHMADOR is also available in Pipe Mixture form"/ ASTHMADOR 24 CIGARETTES 24 MADE IN U.S.A.
