Being offered for sale is a beautiful Gigand Knives "Jim Bowie Commemorative Knive", designed by Dr. Fred Carter. This knife belongs to my husband, and although we don't know much about it, I will do my best to describe it for you. Please email me with any questions or requests for additional pictures, and I will be happy to respond. This knife is really nice looking, and in very good condition. The only flaws that I have noticed are a couple of very small indents / nicks on the handle. I tried to show them in the last picture. T is a similar one on the reverse side of the handle. This knife is # 1175 of a limited edition run. ( #1175 is engraved on the back of the knife.) is some information from a tag that comes with the knife: The Jim Bowie commemorative Knife was designed by award winning knifemaker and two-term president of the Knifemakers Guild, Dr. Fred Carter. The original handmade masterpiece won the "Best of Show" at the first Florida Art Knife Invitational in 1996. Gigand has produced a replica of this knife using the original drawings of Dr. Carter. The 8-3/8 inch blade, of this 12-7/8 inch knife, is made of heat treated stainless steel which has been black nickel plated and decorated with 24 karat gold scroll. To commemorate the hero of the Alamo, a portrate of Jim Bowie has been laser cut into the steel of the blade. The all metal handle has been triple polished and black nickel plated to allow for the addition of the 24 karat god scroll. The guard and tang have been gold decorated using the same designs used in the original prize winning knife. What is included with the sale: The Jim Bowie Knife, described above The original box, with a $200 price tag on it. It also has a business card taped to it, presumably from the original seller. A small tag with the above description on it, as well as a short history of Jim Bowie.Note: The tag also describes a signature card, but we do not have the signature card, so it is not included in the sale.
