Original stock certificate for 20 shares of the Dr. L. D. LeGear Company of Austin, Texas, dated February 3, 1906. This company was formed by a famous veterinarian at the time who also owned the world's largest horse, which he named "Dr. LeGear" after himself. The horse lived from 1902 - 1919 and weighed 2995 pounds. Over the years, Dr. LeGear, the man, expanded his veterinary business to become a worldwide operation headquartered in St. Louis in the 1920's. This certificate is signed by Dr. LeGear, the man and it is assumed that the vignette is of Dr. LeGear, the horse. Embossed gold seal at lower left. Light mailing folds.
