Up for bids is this OLD Cast Iron Chuck Wagon Dutch Oven. It is made by the DR SPerry & Co. They stopped making these before the 1900's. This is between 112 and 137 years old!! The lid says DR SPERRY & CO . Batavia. Both pieces are marked with the number 2. It is a matched set, lid and dutch oven!! It has 3 legs that it sits on to sit in a bed of coals. Then it has a 1" lip on the lid to hold more coals. These were used during the cattle drives for the camp cook to make their meals . It has 3--- 1" legs on it. It is ready to go camping or hunting. NO chips, NO cracks, NO nicks.The Pot itself is in beautiful condition, and is cleaned and seasoned,with a very smooth cook surface, with the exception of one casting flaw.( A little raised bump- 1/8"). The lid does have pitting.(see Pictures) It measures approximately 3" deep by 11 1/4" inside dimensions.
