A Tsuba is the hand guard at the end of the grip of a Japanese Sword. It was initially made to protect the hand during the sword fight. During the Japanese Muromachi and Momoyama period, tsuba were more functional than decorative. They are made of stronger metals like iron and copper.

In modern days, Tsuba is more of a collector’s item. They can be found in a variety of metals and alloys including iron, brass, gold, silver, and so on.

You are bidding on a complete set of Katana fitting. It includes a Tsuba, a Kashira, a Fuchi, and two Menuki. They are all made of copper and accented with gold. A wooden display stand is also included.
