I could feel the grit of the old left over sand as I walked on the original terrazzo floors. A smell of salt permeated the air in a sweet, yet spooky aroma. A feeling in this empty building of not being the only one in it, like maybe some invisible energy from days past. A tropical boy at heart, these ventures were magical, like a "archeologist of sorts" as one article portrayed me for my love and excitement for making these recycled fabrics my eclectic treasures. So when I struck this deal to buy out all the textiles throughout this 40 room hotel, it was like watching Willie Wonka as a kid!. Everything left and abandoned as it was, a collective mix of furnishings from Heywood Wakefield to chrome 70's furniture. Dark and dank and closed since the mid 80's. These drapes hung in the penthouse suite with a huge veranda and the typical concrete balcony walls made from decorative cinderblocks that you can see through. T were 3 large windows and these hung on them. The room was all white, tattered, a padded headboard still attached to the wall in a banana leaf print barkcloth. Huge sliding doors, looking out over the ocean painted a seascape piece of artwork all it's own. I was in a place that I never wanted to leave. These STARGAZER beauties made it through some stormy weather from when they were first hung, but they have been washed and are immaculate and were never affected from the sun or storms. The abundance of charm these exude!! Audrey Hepburn-esque, TRUE stargazer lilies popping on a heather grey background. Lots of purple pinks that fade to a strawberry ice cream pink. Lots of minty aquas and golden yellows accenting this stunning pattern and colorway. THIS AUCTION IS FOR ONE PLEATED PANEL OF ORIGINAL BARKCLOTH. I HAVE 6 PANELS OF THESE, YOU CAN BUY AS MANY AS YOU NEED AT CHECKOUT. EACH PANEL MEASURES 28 WIDE AT THE PLEATED TOP,45 WIDE AT THE BOTTOM WIDTH AND 82 LONG. I HAD LET DOWN THE HEM TOL LENGTHEN THEM, BUT THEY STILL HAVE ABOUT 2 MORE INCHES IN ANOTHER HEM.
