You are bidding on The Trail of Painted Ponies Dream Warriors . This is a first edition pony very low number 1E-8661 by the artist Ross Lampshire. This horse was originally released Summer 2006. This pony is made of Resin and is in good condition with no chips, cracks but a bit of wear on the tips of the ears (see photo). "My best designs come to me when I am quite," says Colorado artist Ross Lampshire, perhaps best known as a rodeo photographer and potter. "An image or idea enters my mind almost as a whisper...and fast takes on a life of its own." Inspired by written accounts of Sitting Bull's dreams prior to battle, Ross had his own dream one night of Sitting Bull silhouetted against a full moon with clouds parting, as if in search of a vision. Working in a stylized manner, Ross has created a dramatic, powerful and flowing design that honors this famous Sioux chief. The Trail of Painted Ponies originated in Santa Fe , New Mexico in 2001. It began as a public art project inviting one-hundred and twenty artists to transform life-size fiberglass horse sculptures into remarkable, creative, and outstanding original works of art. The horses were placed on display around the entire state of New Mexico w they were enjoyed by hundreds of thousands of people. Today, in conjunction with Westland Giftables, you can have your own high-quality, Painted Pony figurine, inspired by the original Painted Ponies.
