Pair of antique porcelain wall shelves / brackets, circa 1850-80 and probably German. Meissen / Dresden style and quality. Measure 6inches high. Each modelled as a nude, bearded man, mythological figure such as Atlas, supporting the world, in this case, a small shelf. A green scale and gold dragon tail scrolls around the sides, from which a dog head peeps. Pink and green wings on the sides. Quality of the porcelain is very fine and torso and head of man beautifully done. Superb details of face and body. Flower painting, gilding and scale as often used in 18th century Meissen. A hole was drilled in the bottom of each shelf, so any mark that might have been there is now missing. Loops for hanging have been attached by plaster on the backs of the shelves. No chips/cracks/restorations.
