This is one of the most beautiful baskets I have ever seen. Comes from Dresden, Germany and I am sure that it was decorated in the Carl Thieme Studios which originated in 1901. Exact date of basket I am not sure of, definitedly early. It is totally covered in a beautifully handpainted floral design also on the inside rim. Basket is 10" high, 7" length wise opening and 5 1/2" across top. The Carl Thieme Mark on the bottom plus some writing which I am not able to make out. Rim is reticulated. Simply a gorgeous basket of the finest porcelain and decorated by a very fine studio, which is world known.
