Up for auction is a vintage Drexel Bicentennial dining set including a table with two inserts and six chairs, a serving cart, and a china cabinet with a secretary type drawer as seen in pictures. I've been told this set is Mahogany, but I am not positive and would like for potential buyers to look at pictures or come by to see this set in person. The china cabinet is lighted and has the glass shelves that go with it. The secretary drawer is lined in leather, and includes several compartments for items. The serving cart has two drawers, one of which is lined in felt. The table has a band around the outside edge. All items have been used daily and show signs of average use. T are the normal chips, nicks and scars a set of this age would have when used daily. The table and serving cart each have a narrow indentation in the wood w something heavy was pulled across the surface for a few inches. One of the legs on the serving cart has a small crack and a little chipping w the caster slides into it. It will still support and hold the caster, but it will fall out when lifted. A couple of the plastic pins that align the two halves of the table with the inserts are broken and need replaced. (This doesn't affect the appearance of the table; we've used the table for years without these...) The two end chairs and four side chairs are upholstered in a blue floral fabric. Although the fabric is in fair to poor condition, these chairs can be easily recovered to match your decor. With that said this set has not been abused and looks very nice and gets many compliments from guests when they visit, however, this is not a pristine vintage dining set and would need reconditioning to make it that condition. I've been told the set would be worth approximately $6,000-7,000 if in restored condition. (This is not a written appraisal- just one local antique dealer's opinion. Please research this for yourself if interested.) I want to be as honest as possible with the description so that you are not disappointed. I like to know exactly what I'm bidding on and try to do the same for others. Satisfaction for the buyer is my goal. I accept paypal and cash - no personal checks. Please feel free to contact me for questions or to arrange to see the set in person. Please -- This is for local pick up only, NO SHIPPING.
