This item is hard for me to describe because I am not sure as to its use , please, EBAYERS sent me a message and I will try to add to the description. This appears the be a long reach, right angle, chain drive, drill which will accept a square tapered shanked wood or metal bit. I don't find any makers marks. It is 35" long overall, center to center of the chain drive is about 23" the chain is about 3/8 wide and thick but is now a chain style that I know it has about 1" c/c. the chain is crank driven by 3" gear the crank is about 6" long with wood handle with brass ferrel. the main body is cast iron with a "D" handle on the side and end t is a slotted adjustment feature to tighten the chainThe drill end is a sprocket with a tapered square through hole in the center about 9/16" one end and about 5/16" the other. Weight is about 7 pounds This is not one of a kind, because I am keeping a couple of similiar styles in my tool collection, but I dont know exactly what they were used for. I can speculate that it could be for any of following trades. blacksmith, cooper, electrician, plumber, carpenter, shipbuilder, carriage builder, timber frame r, HELP I know that they are fairly rare in this area as I own the only three that I have seen in fifty years but I need to reduce my collection Condition : this is a barn find that has surface
