AmericanFlyer Driver Chassis with Brass Buttons For your consideration is the driver chassis for the AmericanFlyer 310 and 312 PRR K-5 and 320, 321, and 322 NYC J-3 Hudson from 1946. This one has the brass buttons on the bottom of the chassis. It is complete with the motor, remote control unit, and headlight socket. It has been cleaned up, lubricated, and tested. It runs good and the remote control unit sequences without any coaxing. About the Brass Buttons The AC Gilbert Company added a pair of brass buttons to the bottom of the driver chassis of all steam locomotives in 1946. The brass buttons were intended to work in conjunction with a track trip consisting of two metal contact strips. As the locomotive passes over the track trip, the two buttons would complete a circuit that would throw a switch or activate a semaphore. The track trip was never made and the buttons were eliminated the following year . This is a consignment sale and being sold as is. If you have any questions regarding any specifics, please do ask.
