This is a unique dual variable capacitor featuring side by side sections, connected by an ingenious push pull lever system instead of pullies. This unit is made by Pfanstiehl, a highly respected name in early radio. The front and rear panels are die cast metal, possibly aluminum. Each identical section is 300 pF max, and each is built on ceramic standoffs for high "Q". A brass shaft ¼ inch diameter will fit any standard knob. A Patent date of 1925 is molded into the casting. Another unique feature of this unit is that the rotors of each section are isolated from the frame. They do not share a common connection. So, one shaft adjusts both variable capacitors, even though they are totally isolated from each other. The frame size is 10"W x 2 ½'H x 2 ½"D Dimensions do not include push rod mechanism or shaft. This unit is in brand new condition, even though the brass push rods have become discolored over the years. T is no solder on the connection lugs. With its ceramic standoffs and total isolation between the two capacitors, this makes a fine tuner for that dual tuned DX crystal radio set. I make every attempt to describe items completely and accurately, and to show any flaws clearly in the photographs. Questions are invited and will be answered promptly. Phone number is required from international bidders for the customs form. read more
