This Limoges Porcelain Perfume Bottle Box measures 28mm x 24mm x 44mm For half a century Dubarry (Porcelain de Limoges) have established a reputation for producing high quality limoges porcelain, specialising in hand painted designs. Classical beautiful decors from the tradition of the 18th Century Sevres and Vincennes form a large part of Dubarry's collection. Their artists employ many of the same techniques that have been used by Limoges artisans for centuries to decorate their famous porcelain, and because each piece is painted entirely by freehand they are unique. Each piece shares a long rich tradition and history known as 'Tabatieres' when they were first produced in the 18th century to hold tobacco and snuff by French aristocrats and high society. Today these boxes have become enormously popular and although they are no longer used to hold snuff and tobacco, they are highly collectable.
