Here's an authentic Dubow A 2 flight jacket from WWII. This is a pretty rare find in this condition. This is a commissioned officer's jacket; a lieutenant. The leather bars are sewn on the shoulders--all original. Name tag has been removed--as seen in photo. Other tag next to Dubow tag reads "Esther V. Brubach." My web research reveals she was married to a Willam Brubach; other sources show a William Brubach with the Army Air Force listed in an accident report. I shall assume they are one in the same--although I can't guarantee it. Nevertheless, this is an authentic A 2 jacket with original period Lt. bars. The jacket is in very good to excellent shape; the original purplish knits are intact and have some holes, the biggest is shown. Other than that, the only other issue would be a gray paint stain on the sleeve--shown in the picture. Looks like old paint to me. My guess is that maybe the jacket went to the wife after the vet died, thus the name tag. The horsehide leather is in excellent shape: it is thick and supple with very little wear; just enough to have a nice patina. The seams are fine; no weakness at all. You can wear this one with no problem. It's solid. Original Talon zipper is fully functional and original. The lining is in amazing shape; there is one tiny pin hole neat the neck, other wise all there!! The collar and pocket snaps are all present and work fine. Marked a size 38. This is a wonderful example is excellent condition--rare by anyone's definition. Please ask questions; I am willing to answer promptly. Payment by PayPal only is due immediately upon invoice; please pay promptly and do not bid if you cannot pay. Extra shipping for outside lower 48 US States. Guaranteed an authentic period jacket. No refunds unless proven otherwise. Shipping to Japan is $45.
