Pysanka comes from an Ukrainian verb pysaty, which means “to write.” My grandfather taught me to “write” on pysanky when I was 7 years old. It was very important to him to keep this tradition alive and passed down to future generations. My youngest daughter is now 14 and works on her own pysanky right beside me. Sometime you will even see some of her work up on the site. My oldest son is only 9 and he enjoys making maple leaves and acorns on his pysanka. We are so thankful that my Grandfather cared so much about read more
