DUG AMERICAN INDIAN STONE GORGET GEORGIA #906

5 Day Auction--This is a very fine looking American Indian stone gorget that was dug in Georgia, Southwest of Atlanta. The area is on the Yellow Jacket River and t are a good many natural springs t Our friend that we bought this piece, and two others, from has lived very near this spot his whole life. After it rains heavily, he goes out searching. We have been finally blessed with much needed rain starting last Thursday. Saturday we got the call to come and see what he found. This gorget measures 2 9/16" long x 1 1/2" wide at the widest x not quite 1/4" thick at the thickest part. It is a grayish tan with the one end looking more orangish, which may be from our Georgia soil. The gorget has 2 completely drilled through holes with one partially drilled hole and inscribed designs on both sides. Ed feels the piece was originally polished. Our friend just washed the red Georgia clay off of it and you can still see w some of the clay is stuck in the crevices. This gorget is whole and is not chipped or cracked. The condition is excellent.
4 NOTES: GEORGIA RESIDENTS: 7% sales tax will be charged OR a copy of the tax form is needed.
POSTAGE RATES are in the bright yellow print below. eBay has just started to use a new end of auction email that really wasn't thought through any too well. Ignore the words pertaining to TAX and INSURANCE. They are erroneous.
BOUNCED EMAILS: This has become a huge problem again. I will email you your total 3 times, including through eBay's system. I am no longer going to make long distance phone calls. It has gotten out of hand. If after 3 days after the auction, you do not have an email from me with your total, please request my eBay info and call me. Thanks.
I will gladly combine your items for a lower postal rate as long as they are compatible. PLEASE let me know if this is what you wish.
I am now marking "Insurance Required" in eBay's Shipping Calculator to cut down on payment errors. PLEASE WAIT until I send you your total since eBay's shipping calulator isn't giving the correct cost for the insurance in many cases!! If you wish to opt out of insurance, please let me know and the invoice can be changed.
Emails are more than welcome. Please don't wait until you have the item to ask your questions!
Priority postage (from zip code 30220) for $4.60 plus 50¢ handling OR 1st Class p/h bubble envelope for $2.25 will be charged. Insurance is the responsibility of the buyer AND highly recommended. Once a package is in the hands of the USPS, I cannot be held responsible for it. International rates will vary. NOTE!!!! We will be mailing out on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday until further notice. If you are in a big hurry for your item, please be sure to let us know and we will try our hardest to accommodate your wishes.

The NOT SO FINE Fine Print.
HAVE YOU EVER NOTICED that reputable sellers of antiques have many feedback that read, "better than described"? The reason for that is because we call everything we see. Bona fide antiques--like people--age, even if they have led a charmed life. PLEASE, look at antiques with a realistic eye. Some are "born" with flaws and all gather wear during their lifetime. Time ages everything! WE prefer to make this experience as easy as possible. YOU can help. Please READ the description. Don't just look at the pictures. If you have any questions, ASK them. Sure, it may take a couple minutes of your time right then, but your email just may save us both a lot of time later. If you are the winning bidder, please ANSWER our email with your name and address and use our file number, which will help to speed your item up. PAYMENT is expected within 10 days [Changed 01-18-04] of the auction close. If you find that you have bid more th...
