From My Collection of Metal Detector Finds:One Dug Relic Silver Broach Pin with Indian Deisgns from Globe,Arizona.Detected and dug-up on Private Property with permission.My metal detecting buddies and I call it the railroad camp.It was w Apaches and other railroad laborers camped while working on the railroad coming accross the San Carlos Indian Reservation & through Globe.This took place from the 1880's to the twenties.We found alot of jewelry scattered about with all the other relics left behind by the occupants.This beautiful silver pin is just one example.Careful examination reveals the pin is gone ,however the mount and catch are still intact.The designs on the front are some typical Indian designs except one looks like a spaceship.The others include a deer, a sunrise,a man and a thunderbird.I'm not shure what the fifth design is.It looks like an protazoa or amoeba to me. I showed this to one of my buddies after I found it and he seemed to think it was worn in the hair like a barrette. I think not.I think it was pinned to the clothing on the chest like a broach. I have only cleaned the dirt off of this specimen.The heavy tarnish remains to be a decision made by the next owner.To polish or not to polish.It certainly would look good restoresd to its original bright shiney silver brilliance.
