Item Description: This is a beautiful, old Dugan PERSIAN GARDEN HUGE 10 RUFFLE BOWL on a Collar Base in MARIGOLD Base Glass . It is a heavy and massive piece of glass - 10 1/2 inches wide and 4 inches tall. The piece exhibits VIBRANT MULTI-COLOR IRIDESCENCE...WHAT A BEAUTY! CERTAINLY A PIECE THAT WILL GET NOTICED IN A CROWD! This is one of the most beautiful patterns in Carnival Glass and this one is a great example! Really shines and dances in natural light. Please look over the photos and see for yourself. It is even better in person. Its a wonderful example of this elegant pattern...very pleasing to view on display. I have not seen too many of these anyw, so is a great opportunity to pick one up at a NO RESERVE auction. It is an old vintage piece, not marked in any way. The bowl is a striking investment quality piece of glass. I have included several photos of the piece so you can see for yourself. It looks even better in your hands as it is always very difficult to capture a piece like this on film and do it justice. You can reference this piece in David Doty's 1998 Field Guide to Carnival Glass or The Encyclopedia to Carnival Glass and Edwards and Carwile. I guarantee this is authentic, early 1900's vintage Carnival Glass! All my pictures are taken outside, always, in natural, indirect sunlight against a dark or light cloth...no artificial light is EVER used! I never enhance photos, if you like the colors you see...that is what you will get! I do not use reserves, never have, I believe auctions should be...well...auctions! So bid with confindence and have fun...LOW starting bid...it will sell to the high bidder. Item Condition: ( Pictures are part of the description...and I include lots of them...so please have a look!) This gorgeous piece is in awesome condition ! No cracks, chips, fleabites or repairs. No major issues whatsoever. T are a few scattered manufacturing stretch marks visible, n othing u ncommon. T is a very faint manufacturing straw mark in the center of the bowl. It is engulfed in the pattern and can't be seen unless you are really looking for it. Nothing uncommon at all. T are a few very tiny enclosed manufacturing bubbles as well. Again...nothing uncommon at all. The base is in great shape. You can feel the mold seams barely, nothing more. Sits FLAT. Overall great shape. The Rim and Edge Treatment are VERY well done, creating a pleasing and eye catching shape. VERY SWEET! The Interior ...Well what can I say...it is superb! Great colors on Marigold and they are enhanced by the gorgeous pattern. Excellent! The Exterior exhibits a wonderful pleasing pattern and no wear that I can find. The bowl appears to have been nothing but a show piece throughout its long life. That is all I can find on this HUGE and splendid bowl. Its a beauty. I've looked the piece over hard...I'm being very picky. I included lots of pictures, up close, so have a look. Simply...it is a fantastic, investment quality piece of glass...an elegant, pleasing example. A TOP SHELF EXAMPLE! I collect Carnival Glass myself and I try to be very thorough with my descriptions, like I like others to be when I'm buying so you know what you are getting. These Large Persian Garden Dugan Bowls are hard to come by and you won't find one nicer anyw! This is one of the best...a great opportunity. Its a wonderful example of what Vintage Carnival Glass is all about. The pictures show it pretty well, but its much better in person. Really makes a statement on display.
