Please read carefully and view photos before bidding or purchasing. This is a listing for an Ann Parker English Costume Doll of The Duke of Wellington. The late Ann Parker was a member of The National Institute of American Doll Artists as well as The British Doll Artists Association, and her handcrafted, hand-painted resin English Costume Dolls are noted for both their exquisite craftsmanship as well as their incredible level of realistic detail, and are highly-sought by doll collectors.This doll is approximately 12 inches tall, and is mounted on a wooden base with a plaque on the front that says The DUKE of WELLINGTON. The tag attached to his left wrist reads "English Costume Dolls @ ANN PARKER HAND MADE IN ENGLAND on one side, and " Arthur Wellesley 1st Duke of Wellington 1769 - 1852 "The Iron Duke", he defeated Napoleon at The Battle of Waterloo. In later life he became Prime Minister" on the other. This particular doll has the numbers " 128 " written on the back of the wooden base on which he is mounted. He is wearing a red military coat with tails, and white pantaloons. His coat is adorned with bold citation cords and braids, gold and black collar, a burgandy bandolier decorated with a metal emblem on his right side, w/ black/silver medal over his breastbone, and a silver and white medal with a red cross below his left breast. read more
