Presented for auction is an EXQUISITE antique EAPG Pedestal Cake Stand / Open Compote from Duncan Miller c.1901...in the pattern known as "Diamond Ridge". This VERY ELEGANT, Open Compote measures 10" in diameter and stands 5 5/8" high. It's in EXCELLENT CONDITION, no chips or cracks...with the slightest touch of wear! The glass is THICK..CLEAR..and BRIGHT! The diamond pattern is pressed from the underside, framed by a BEAUTIFUL, WELL-FORMED, 16-point SCALLOPED RIM. The plate slopes gently toward the center, forming a 5" diameter recessed area. The pattern is replicated on the base, complemented by horizontal rings around the pedestal. T are the usual old mould markings found in antique glass, like bubbles, straw marks, and swirls/striations. These are all characteristics of the glassmaking process, and are what give each and every piece of Early American Pattern Glass their own personality! On the outside edge of one of the points, t is a very small mould indent/ inclusion mark in the glass. It can be felt more than seen, and is not very pronounced. Such a LOVELY PIECE of ANTIQUE DUNCAN MILLER GLASS...add it to your collection, or give as a gift! Shipping weight 5 lbs. Thank you for visiting my auctions; please email with any questions.
