When most people think of Dunhill pipe, two things come to mind: 1) unsurpassed quality in engineering and construction, and 2) a traditional English pipe, in a classical English shape. Well, this pipe has the traditional Dunhill engineering and construction; however, it is anything but a classical English shape. The pipe has no shape number: it does not match anything on the Dunhill shape chart. It is closest to a quarter-bent Bulldog or Rhodesian in shape, but with its square shank it doesn't fit either mold. Also, it doesn't have the carved ring(s) around the widest part of the bowl. So it really is unique, and quite avant garde by Dunhill standards. The pipe was made in 1991 and is a Root Briar, which denotes Dunhill's smooth pipes with the lightest finish. It is a Group 4 in size. The current list price for a new Group 4 Root Briar pipe is $702. It has been cleaned and the bit has been sanitized. All you have to do is load your favorite blend and fire it up. Don't miss out on your chance to add this unique Dunhill pipe to your collection.
